Our Roots began over a decade ago as Comforting Souls Ministries, a small church-based outreach founded by Reverend Ben Evans in Monroe, Georgia. What started as a way to mentor and support underserved youth has grown into a full nonprofit with programs that change lives across Southwest Georgia.

Our Mission We exist to empower students and their families to succeed academically, vocationally, and spiritually. By pairing tutoring and mentoring with hands-on opportunities like our community garden we help young people build skills, confidence, and hope for the future.

Our Partners This work wouldn’t be possible without our partners. Local churches, schools, businesses, volunteers, and organizations like the USDA and Georgia Department of Public Health come together with us to provide land, resources, and support that keep the garden growing and the mission alive.
